To what extent do you think that it is your duty as a citizen to get "informed"?Are you informed? How do you plan to be informed about serious issues? To what extent do you think that you should leave the complicated decisions up to others?

Climate change is a threat to life on earth.People should be encouraged live in a more sustainable environment. This can only be achieved when people are treated equally and in fairness and also working in an environment which is free from discrimination.Guidance and support need to be provided to prevent any problems.

To make our community a better place now and future people need to help prevent future climate change.People need to take resposibilty to make their practice more sustainable by reducing green gass emmissions, protect air and land.

I get informed about sustainable development by learning about it through internet, watching news, reading books and letters.I feel i am informed about climate change but feel the government should take more action though if people are to live in a more sustainable way for example those with big cars should pay more taxes because they pollute more or people who do not re-cycle should be fined. This will encourage people to live in a more sustainable way because people will be aware of the consequences of their actions.

I think it is the government`s duty to inform people about serious issues of sustainable development.People tend to listen to people in power so the government should use their position because they are more likely to be listened to.Complicated decisions should be left for the government to deal with, for example big issues like bussiness/industry are accountable for carbon emmissions so it is the duty the government to pressurize them to reduce carbon emmission.

Al Gore (and the IPCC)won the Noble Peace Prize in 2007(BBC 2007)largely for the production of the film"An Inconvinient Truth"

To what extent do you think this was deserved?Having watched this film in class did you feel that your opinion(or perhaps the opinion of others)to the issue of climate change could be positively influenced? What did you think of this film? Was it effective?

Al Gore won a Nobel Prize for his contribution to draw the world's attention to dangers of global warming.Al Gore's film "An Inconvinient of Truth" revealed how climate change is happening as a result of human activities. He did the film to raise an awareness and educate people around the world about the need to take action so as to live in a more sustainable environment. The film shows effects of global warming.Al Gore explains how Antarctic shelf melts and breaks off quickly. He used photographs to help people understand what global warming is doing to our planet eg glaciers of today being compared with those from a few years years ago.He mentioned that fresh water is locked away in ice. He revealed people get water on glaciers but glaciers are shrinking all over the world.

In my opinion the film is effective and informative. It is an eye opener.Al Gore explains that burning releases carbon and carbon gets trapped in the atmosphere this will educate people to act to protect the earth. We need to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption.People are being encouraged to reduce greenhouse emission by installing energy saving technology.since pollution cause carbon dioxide which is poisonous to human beings and animals people will be encouraged to act to prevent this from happening. The film revealed the dangers of cutting down trees and burning of fossil fuel and how they lead to higher carbon dioxide concentrations.

Al Gore might have used his position as a politician to gain the attention of people to raise an awareness of global warming but he has done most to create worldwide understanding of human measures that need to be taken into action.By watching the film you can see that he really cares about global warming though he might have exagerated but the facts still remain global warming is a threat to the world.

The film is effective because it encourages people to live in a more sustainable way.The world is warming up because of greenhouse gas emissions although some gases occur naturally like water vapour.Al Gore's campaign was very educative and people need to act sooner rather than later.
