SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL.WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS.IS THERE REALLY A TRANSPORT PROBLEM?DO THE BENEFITS OF MOTORIZED TRANSPORT OUTWEIGH THE COST?ARE THERE ANY MINOR (OR PERHAPS MAJOR) CHANGES YOU PERSONALLY FEEL COULD MAKE OUR PRESENT TRANSPORT SYSTEM MORE SUSTAINABLE?

Trasportation activities support increasing mobility demands for passengers.Tranport activities have resulted in growing levels of motorization and congestion leading to enviromental problems.Personal car travel contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, local air pollution.Transport industry release several millions of gases into the atmosphere. It also causes a lot of noise during busy hours which can affect quality life and have impact on human beings.

Motorised transport have advantages and disadvantages.Being able to transport yourself without relying on others is good but may have impacts on environment.A car is convinient and enables people to travel fast and one can drive it any time they like.It also saves time, however single car use cause air pollution and cars are partly reliable for greenhouse emissions.

Road transport is a major contribution to air pollution. To make the present situation more sustainable people should leave their cars at home and finding other ways of travelling. This can help reduce climate effects, local air pollution and congestion. Car sharing schemes can help combat congestion and reduce co2 emissions.People can share vehicles for same journeys, they improve air quality and fewer carbon emissions due to reduced traffic and there will be less competition for parking space. Service levels of public transport should be raised to cut down emissions and congestion. If public transport is easily accessible and at a lower price commuters would leave their own cars and flock to public transport. The government should encourage people to use Biofuels because they reduce climate change impacts.
